01/11/2008 GhostLight Productions Instrumental in Forming ISES Cleveland Chapter
Cleveland – GhostLight Productions, LLC Chairwoman and CEO Deb Smythe Hermann is the force behind establishing the first-ever Cleveland chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and has assumed the role of Director-at-Large. Joining Smythe Hermann in managing the business of the new chapter in formation are eight board members from local industry.
Ninety companies throughout Northeast Ohio have already joined the newly- formed chapter in formation. “Local interest has been extremely high,” says Smythe Hermann. “Our area’s special event professionals are excited about joining the 5,500 ISES members active in 41 chapters worldwide. Having this peer network can only elevate the products, services and results we provide to our clients.” The Cleveland chapter will mark the third in Ohio, with chapters already established in Cincinnati and Columbus. The Cleveland chapter in formation will be awarded full chapter status in January 2009.
Founded in 1987, ISES members include event producers, caterers, decorators, florists, destination management companies, rental companies, audio-visual technicians, sales managers, convention coordinators and many other special event disciplines. “It is our goal to raise the level of professionalism, create more networking opportunities and establish even more positive working relationships with our colleagues,” says Smythe Hermann. “Event professionals in Northeast Ohio already work at a high level of proficiency. We believe our new formalized relationship will take us even further.”
