03/10/2011 GhostLight Productions, LLC Dare to Care
CLEVELAND, OH- GhostLight Productions, LLC is proud to announce their participation as a Video Projection Sponsor of Dare2Care: Unite Against Bullying. Presented by The Human Rights Campaign on May 1, 2011 this evening is designed to educate and integrate the fight against teen bullying and teen suicide. The event on "{Gay Day} May Day" is a call to action: a distress signal to the Cleveland Community that our children can be placed at significant risk from bullying and that we all share the responsibility to ensure that they do not live in fear.
While conceived as an evening of fashion and performance art, Mr. Shimp will be tasked with tying together the services of several other production sponsors for a seamless performance of a full runway show in an old, historic landmark: a musical theatre interlude and dance concert: and comedy from the queen of stereotype shattering, Suzanne Westenhoefer.
The event will also present Boody, Queen Haifa. Born in Palestine, Boody became Palestine’s first professional drag queen. When Boody became involved with the LGBT community in Palestine, his life changed forever. He was forced to leave his home due to threats on his life because of his sexual orientation. Boody’s story is featured in the award winning documentary, City of Borders.
