10/22/2006 GhostLight Productions Selected to Produce Baseball as America Grand Opening
Cleveland – Following the tremendous success of the grand opening of BODY WORLDS 2: The Exhibit of Real Human Bodies in April 2005, GhostLight Productions, LLC has been selected to produced the grand opening event for Baseball as America, the blockbuster exhibition at the Great Lakes Science Center, running from March 31 – September 3, 2007.
Called The Base Ball, the grand opening gala event expects to attract 300 guests to preview the more than 500 artifacts on display in this national traveling exhibition produced by the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The opening night crowd should also expect to meet baseball greats from the past, including Cleveland’s own Bob Feller. The exhibition highlights the relationship between baseball and American culture and the gala will be designed as a celebration of America’s national treasure and pastime.
“We’re thrilled to be producing this event,” says GhostLight Productions President and COO David Shimp. “It’s an honor to be part of a national exhibition opening and who wouldn’t want to get a look at artifacts like the Honus Wagner 1909 baseball card, considered the world’s most valuable card or Jackie Robinson’s Brooklyn Dodgers jersey? We have some exciting plans up our sleeves for this event.”
